Newborn portraits are the perfect way to capture all of the details of your newest addition to the family. The memories created by KD Photography LLC at your session will be cherished for years to come. Newborn sessions are created in studio where parents can relax, put their feet up and enjoy watching their little one make their big debut! I highly recommend expectant parents or relatives to contact me prior to babies arrival to discuss your newborn session and to tentatively schedule a time to book your session. Please check out the "What to Baby" for more information about your session.

How to plan for your Session
Please contact me to "tentatively" schedule your session around your due date. The best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 10 days of birth. Newborns typically are more sleepy and pliable for the most desired poses during this time. At two weeks most baby hit a growth spurt and become more alert and active, this can create a more stressful session. Please plan for your session to take 2-4 hours, this allows for feeding, changing, comforting, etc. You will want to be sure to feed your baby prior to arrival or right when you get to the studio as this makes for a nice and sleepy baby for the session. I will provide backgrounds and props for your session, feel free to bring your own if you have something you would like to use. Here are a few other things to keep in mind:
Things that give mom anxiety that they don’t expect:
· Baby is colicky
· Baby is gassy
· Baby’s belly button or circumcision isn't healed
· Baby poops or pees
· Siblings are upset
· Family hasn't slept in days
· 2-4 hours feels overwhelming
· Baby is tired of being disturbed over and over
· Baby is not sleepy and does not want to cooperate
These are just some of the things that make moms feel like things are not going well, but we’ll just go with the flow. Pooping and peeing happens, by the way, so just expect it and don’t worry about it. Things wash. I can't wait to meet your new bundle of joy!
